Oh Canada: Welcome to world's newest police state

And just like that , "Blackface" Justin Trudeau, following in his father's footsteps, has turned Canada into a police state. Remember how two years ago we were "all in this together"? Nurses were heroes. Truckers were heroes (Trudeau said so).  Personal care home workers were heroes. Two years later, nurses are being fired. Care home workers are being fired. Truckers demonstrating for the right to work are arrested and demonized. Snipers are stationed on the rooftops in Ottawa ready to kill protestors. Police are roughing up anti-mandate teenagers in Steinbach with impunity while the "news" media turns a blind eye. During Black History Month politicians and pundits are extolling segregation. Trudeau has seized absolute power in Canada as the Opposition parties sit silent. Under the Emergencies Act  Trudeau can prohibit travel to or from anywhere in the country; he can seize your bank account without notice, he can even assume control of all public ut...

Trudeau to the country: 'I Give Up.'

Where ya bin? you ask. In the modern vernacuar, we reply:  Later, dude. The Black Rod was jolted back into action by the televised news conference last week with the Prime Minister of Canada,  Justin  "Buckwheat" Trudeau. Trudeau had been jaunting around the world, basking in accolades, while mobs barricaded railroads across Canada, slowly strangling  the economy and forcing layoffs and shortgages of essential goods. Finally, shamed by the Opposition Conservatives in Parliament for ignoring the crisis, he reluctantly cancelled the next destination of his winter world tour---sunny Barbados---and returned to Ottawa. Less than a week of non-action later, he stood in front of television cameras to make an announcement:  he had no idea what to do. Yep, that was it. The leader of a country of 35 million people formally announced to the world that the protestors had won. He had nothing.  He had  tried his best, i.e. begging the "hereditary...

SHOCKING! Justin Trudeau says he's responsible for "plenty" of racist incidents - 3 and counting

In an astonishing comment that's been overlooked (or deliberately ignored) by the Mainstream Media, Canada's Prime Minister Justin Trudeau confessed Wednesday that there are many other instances of racist behaviour by him yet to be disclosed. Trudeau was speaking at a hastily arranged,  tightly scripted news scrum to address the discovery of a photo of him attending a party in 2001 at a private school where he taught showing him with his face and hands painted  dark brown to imitate an arab for an Arabian Nights gala. He stuck to the script almost to the end, repeating over and over (and over and over and over) to every question that he regretted his action "deeply" (six times), was "really sorry (twice), "deeply sorry" (twice) and apologizing to Canadians (two times). He also admitted to painting his face black in high school and singing The Banana Boat song (Day-0) popularized by Harry Belafonte. But just before he broke off from reporters,...

The unreported bombshell conspiracy evidence in the Trudeau/SNC-Lavelin scandal

Wow. No, double-wow. A game-changing bombshell lies buried in the supplementary evidence provided to the House of Commons Judiciary Committee by former Attorney General Jody Wilson-Raybould. It has gone virtually unreported since she submitted the material almost a week ago. As far as we can find, only one journalist-- Andrew Coyne, columnist for the National Post--- has even mentioned it and even then he badly missed what it meant, burying it in paragraph 10 of a 14 paragraph story. The gist of the greatest political scandal in modern Canadian history is well-known by now. It's bigger than Adscam, the revelation 15 years ago that prominent members of the Liberal Party of Canada and the party itself funneled tens of millions of dollars in kickbacks into their own pockets from federal spending in Quebec sponsoring ads promoting Canadian unity. That was just venal politicians and a crooked political party helping themselves to public money. The Trudeau-Snc-Lavalin scandal is...

2018 Newsfaker, em, Newsmaker, of the Year

Okay, sabbatical's over. Time to get back to work. The first order of business is some overdue unfinished business, namely the annual recognition of the Black Rod Newsmaker of the Year for 2018. It was a bit of a headscratcher as the year's end approached closer and closer. No name jumped  out from the sad pack of also-rans--- Pallister, Bowman, some overpaid hockey player... Yikes, was there nobody? But then just before the stroke of midnight on the last day of the year (and too late to publish) it came.  Of course.  A dark horse. Someone everybody knows but nobody knows. The man who influenced more Manitobans, more Winnipegers, more Liberals than anyone else in the province... The Black Rod  Newsfaker   Newsmaker of the Year for 2018 -- Bob Cox, publisher of the Winnipeg Free Press. For years Box Cox (as he's affectionately known) has travelled the country far and wide preaching, threatening, lobbying, pleading for somebody ...

Sex and Drugs in the Peg. Is that what PM Justin Trudeau is covering up?

The Parliamentary Press Gallery spent the weekend yukking it up with Justin Trudeau at the annual gallery dinner, demonstrating that relations between the Prime Minister and the press were back to normal, the master and his voice in sync again. Things had been a little strained a few weeks ago when Trudeau, determined to show that he was a tough guy and not to be trifled with in the House of Commons, delivered a hard elbow to a female MP's breast while manhandling an Opposition MP who wasn't moving fast enough to suit the PM. The reporters and pundits had to do quite the soft shoe to excuse Trudeau's boorishness when video of the incident contradicted his initial explanation for how his elbow smashed into her chest.  Luckily, the controversy subsided quickly and the press gallery could go back to work--- adoring the Sun King. And then, last week, damn it, up popped another matter that threatened to blemish the reign of Trudeau II. Its name---Hunter Tootoo. Hunt...

Sex on the Hill. The who, what, where and when.

NDP M.P. Christine Moore and CBC Radio host Jian Gomeshi have one thing in common.  They both thought they could deflect blame in a sex scandal by admitting a sexual indiscretion before it was known publicly.  Both were wrong. Gomeshi tried to get ahead of a newspaper investigation into allegations of rough sex on his part.  He published a blog post admitting to a predeliction for S&M.  The post contributed to his firing from the CBC. In the wake of the Gomeshi affair, Moore shifted the national debate on sexual harassment to Parliament Hill as a cesspit of rapacious politicians and staff preying on innocent young girls working in the political sphere.  When Liberal leader Justin Trudeau championed her never-explained complaint against Liberal M.P. Massimo Pacetti, she managed to go unnamed. But eventually Moore could see the pressure growing for her to shed her anonymity and go public with her allegations.  ...

Selinger NDP's bedrock support is eroding even as Trudeau dooms the Liberals

Justin Trudeau has delivered the kiss of death to the Manitoba Liberal Party. With a new leader and a successful annual general meeting under their belts, the Party had surged up the polls to heights unheard of since 1995. At 23 percent of popular support in the March poll by Probe Research, the Liberals were barking at the ankles of the ruling NDP (28 percent), a far cry from their 7.5 percent showing in the last provincial election (2011). Then Trudeau announced in May that the federal Liberals were henceforth the official pro-abortion party of Canada and anyone opposing abortion was an enemy of the state. Poof.   Support for the Manitoba Liberals dropped seven percentage points by the June polling. (And even that was bolstered by the anomaly of 28 percent support in Southwest Winnipeg.) The bright horizon predicted for Liberals under Leader Rana Bokhari suddenly became a pipe dream, with another trip to the sub-basement of political hell more...

Byelection post-mortem. Press bias and NDP panic.

It must have been as if Christmas came early. The liberal press was nearly orgasmic at the thought of witnessing their political messiah Justin Trudeau demonstrate his magnificence by casting out the conservative demons in Parliamentary byelections. Three times he had gone into the Temple of the Beast (well, Manitoba), preaching about scandal in Ottawa, and promising to cleanse the rot in a puff of (pot) smoke. Giddy with anticipation, they came  to anoint their saviour---he who would restore Liberals to their rightful place as the natural governing party once he demonstrated his miraculous powers to the voting public. They gathered to witness the rebirth of the Party--- these self-proclaimed shepherds of the ignorant masses, angels in their own minds, and a lot of asses. After all, hadn't the oracles predicted an easy and crushing victory?  'Liberals 29 points ahead in Brandon-Souris' declared the Forum Research sages. And it didn't...
