In an astonishing comment that's been overlooked (or deliberately ignored) by the Mainstream Media, Canada's Prime Minister Justin Trudeau confessed Wednesday that there are many other instances of racist behaviour by him yet to be disclosed. Trudeau was speaking at a hastily arranged,  tightly scripted news scrum to address the discovery of a photo of him attending a party in 2001 at a private school where he taught showing him with his face and hands painted  dark brown to imitate an arab for an Arabian Nights gala. He stuck to the script almost to the end, repeating over and over (and over and over and over) to every question that he regretted his action "deeply" (six times), was "really sorry (twice), "deeply sorry" (twice) and apologizing to Canadians (two times). A leopard can't change its spots and the NDP's Nahanni Fontaine can't change her bias against white people. We got another taste of her advocacy for aboriginal apartheid in Hansard's official account of debate in the Legislature last week. Taking a page out of the Putin playbook, the Manitoba NDP government is frantically rewriting history to justify its racially-oriented takeover of the long-running women's shelter Osborne House. Through a series of strategic leaks to reporters at the Winnipeg Free Press, the NDP has created a false narrative akin to Putin's explanation of how Russia had to --- just had to --- seize Crimea from Ukraine because of all the injustices the evil Ukrainians were imposing on Russians who lived there. The public lynching of mayoral candidate Gord Steeves last Wednesday was not only ugly, it was a frightening display of how an uncontrolled news mob will gladly abandon ethics and propriety for self-promotion. Having invented a scandal, Winnipeg's best known purported professional journalists descended on a Steeves news conference determined to stir more controversy -- even if they had to manufacture it. The most egregious faux-journalist was CJOB's news director , Richard Cloutier . CJOB, with its listenership in freefall, has decided that the way to recoup its ratings is with stunts. So they determined they would go live to the Steeves news conference where, just maybe if they were lucky, trouble would break out. The problem with going live is that you can't control the event. Gord Steeves has suddenly been propelled into being the frontrunner in Winnipeg's mayoral race. And it's not for something he said or did. He can thank his wife for the push. What? What are you talking about? The MSM says his campaign is finished because of a four-year-old Facebook post by his wife complaining about being harrassed by "drunk native guys." Hardly.  Because EVERYBODY KNOWS IT'S TRUE! And that means that finally somebody is talking about something that people care about. Like WHY DOWNTOWN WINNIPEG IS SUCH A SHITHOLE. Steeves' support is solidified by the trumped-up attack on him, and voters who haven't paid much, if any, attention to the campaign for mayor now know his name.  And they also know he's the only candidate they've heard saying what they want to hear -- clean up downtown. What is racism? Apparently that's the question on everybody's lips. You can't pick up a newspaper without reading somebody's opinion of what racism is.   That's funny because for more than 50 years nobody has had any doubt about what racism is. Children and adults, men and women knew without question that racism was prejudice against someone because of the colour of their skin.    See?  Simple. But now that we've discovered that Eric Robinson, the Deputy Premier of Manitoba, is a racist by that definition, journalists, academics, ethicists, commentators of all descriptions are racing to the ramparts to say it isn't so .     That we've been using the wrong definition of racism for more than half a century.  That the true definition is a Marxist interpretation of class and power relationships, not skin colour after all.
